Discount Adobe Photoshop Extended CS4 Upsell from Photoshop [Mac]

The point in my getting the Extended version was for the 3d implementation. I've read reviews stating that if you work in 3d, Extended is a must. So I'll take the most text addressing that.
It does support 3d model manipulation, and direct 3d painting onto objects.
The 3d paint, however, is slow, and the object handling is buggy.
If Extended's 3d object handling is of interest to you, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. You can rough sketch in any 3d modeller that supports object/UV painting, and touch it up with CS4 standard or GIMP for that matter.

Otherwise, it's Photoshop, which has been a great app for quite a few years now, so you're not going to go wrong. Content-aware rescaling is a neat feature. The hardware-acceleration enhancements don't really add up, IMO, and program will hog up more RAM than CS3 did. The text tools can still use work, but are about as good as raster edittors get. Overall, I'd recommend running a fine-toothed comb through the a trial of CS4 before considering an upgrade if you own CS3. CS3 was practically a given, especially for Mac users looking for an Intel solution. CS4, not necessarily.Get more detail about Adobe Photoshop Extended CS4 Upsell from Photoshop [Mac].
