Save Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited 2009

I have years of digital imaging experience including the use of other brands of stitching software. I am very disappointed and have not been able to render a usable stitch. I agree with the other reviewer, Stitcher Unlimited 2009 is 'very clunky,' at best.

My problems effectively began right out of the box. Each time I tried to use the software it demanded that I reenter the serial number, which required that I had to keep that number handy. It took a little over two weeks, via many emails, with Autodesk support - there is no phone support with this product - to get this problem resolved. Also, Autodesk's web site is very poor, and it took me about an hour and several visits to the site, so that I could register and claim my 30-days of email support. I finally had to call an 800 number (for a different product) to get the email address in which to start communicating with Autodesk on its Stitcher software. To be fair, their employee did try hard to fix the first problem which eventually was solved.

The second problem - its ability to render a stitch - was never solved. The files I tried to stitch were from a Nikon D3X in both tiff and jpg formats, to no avail. All the rendered images came out at a resolution significantly lower than even a web image. The final emails from Autodesk, on this issue, came back blank (no words), as if there is an auto response to my emails and they are not getting through. I have since deleted this software from my computer.Get more detail about Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited 2009.
