ScreenCam Best Quality

Lotus ScreenCam was absolutely a revolutionary product when it was produced years ago. I have used the product extensively under Windows 95 and NT, and it was absolutely terrific. The ability to capture large screen areas, the ability to play them back smoothly on another computer, etc. The problems started when I wanted to 'draw' on the movie, do fine-grained edits, or move it to a computer that didn't have the same fonts and icons. It would make a real mess. And forget Windows XP. It will not work reliably under Win98, Me, XP, or any of the newer "NT"-based OSes. All is not lost, however.

It appears that ScreenCam has now found a home with a company called "SmartGuyz, Inc", which makes an XP-compatible version. I've tried the demo version, and it is absolutely an answer to the problem of XP compatibility. The company also appears to have addressed the illustration and interactivity problems as well. The product looks quite solid. It seems to be using a new technology compared to the old Lotus product, since recording PowerPoint presentations and exporting it to another computer doesn't seem to have any font or icon dependencies. Hmm. Perhaps my longing for an XP version of ScreenCam is really at an end?Get more detail about ScreenCam.
